It's been a busy couple of months since I last posted. I was fired from my job of four years at the hospital back in June and sat unemployed for almost 3 months. Still don't regret telling that supervisor where to shove it, though.

About 6 weeks ago I finally landed a job as a photographer's assistant and retoucher in a small studio less than 10 miles from home. And I've loved every day of it. I couldn't have asked for much more in a job. The pay is almost on par with my previous job's (and soon to increase) with none of the bullshit that comes prepackaged with a big corporation. My boss is awesome, I love my coworkers, and the dress code includes jeans and sandals. XD I paint out zits and undereye circles all day long and listen to my raunchy, wonderfully filthy radio show program on my headphones. Oh, and I can now tell relatives that I'm actually using the degree that's cleaning out my bank account monthly. There's something to be said for not having to feel shame when aunts, uncles, and grandparents ask what I'm doing after graduation.

So while I don't have any new art to post, I have been active artistically on a daily basis.

The boy and I have also started playing WoW again with a guild his coworker runs. The Refer-A-Friend program tempted him to try the game again, and we've been flying through the levels. I have a sketch of my Draenei priest started and hope to gain a little interest in selling WoW character commissions.

So there it is. My tentative plan is to get more personal art done when I get more settled into my responsibilities at work and climb out from under the backlog of retouches that have piled up lately. I'd like to start a webcomic, which I'm not sure I've mentioned here before, and finally get a website design off the ground. I don't anticipate that happening until after Christmas however. I foresee a lot of homemade gifts in the form of paintings this year to supplement those of the store-bought variety.
